What is Episeras?

The intended purpose of Episeras is the continuous assessment of epilepsy seizure risk, and warning against a high risk of a seizure occurring, in previously diagnosed patients.

  • Your seizure-risk prediction

Episeras is a CE-marked digital medical device designed to assess and predict the risk of epileptic seizures before they occur — a form of proactive care that alerts you in advance.

  • Your early warning

By detecting the specific electrical patterns in your brain that usually precede a seizure, Episeras aims to give you an early warning to support your safety.

  • Part of your care

Episeras adds a layer of real-time, personalised monitoring to traditional epilepsy management. It does not replace treatment, but works alongside it to offer additional support.

  • Built for your daily life

A discreet, wearable earpiece with in-ear sensors monitors your brain’s electrical activity continuously, in a convenient format that fits into your day.

It’s important to have realistic expectations

Understanding what Episeras can and cannot do helps you use it safely and confidently.

What Episeras does

  • Assesses brain activity to predict an increased seizure risk.
  • Provides an objective, continuous data log of seizures between doctor visits.
  • Supports your preparedness and safety.
  • Helps you have better, data-led discussions with your doctor.

What Episeras does not do

  • It does not prevent seizures from happening.
  • It does not treat seizures or deliver medication.
  • It does not replace your anti-seizure medication or seizure action plan.

The companion app

Episeras uses artificial intelligence to analyse your brain activity in real time and help assess the risk of an epileptic seizure, securely storing the data on dedicated servers. The earpiece and app detect and record seizure alerts as they happen — and continuously track the performance of the risk-assessment algorithm — making everything available for later review.
