Timeline of your Episeras journey

From your first conversation with your neurologist to receiving your first risk alerts — here is what to expect, step by step, as you start with Episeras.

  1. 01

    Initial prescription visit

    You discuss Episeras with your neurologist or epileptologist and, if it’s right for you, receive a prescription.

  2. 02

    Onboarding session

    You receive an onboarding session with a healthcare specialist who enrolls you in our patient support and explains the next steps.

  3. Once you’re registered with our patient support

    Audiologist appointment

    You visit an audiologist to have a custom mold of your ear canal taken.

  4. About 1 month

    04

    Manufacturing period

    Your custom earpiece is manufactured using the digital scan of your ear mold.

  5. 05

    Device delivery and setup session

    You have a session with the same healthcare specialist, who helps you set up your device, download and pair it to the app, and guides you as you start using Episeras.

  6. 06

    Training phase

    Before Episeras can assess and predict your seizure risk, it must learn what your brain activity looks like before a seizure occurs. The solution adapts to your unique brain patterns.

    During this phase you actively wear the device and log your seizures manually and proactively in the app. You won’t receive alerts yet — Episeras is still in training mode, building a personalized model for you.

    Activating alerts too early would result in inaccurate predictions, so this phase continues until at least 5 seizures have been recorded while using the device and logged in the app. Patience and accuracy here are essential for future success.

    Active detection phase

    Once your personalized model has been built, the alert feature is activated and you begin receiving seizure-risk notifications.

    • Real-time analysis: The earpiece continuously sends data to the app.

    • Pattern detection: The app analyzes this data against your personalized model.

    • Alert generation: If the system detects a preictal pattern, it triggers an alert.

Your model keeps learning with you

As you continue to use Episeras, the app collects and uploads recorded signals to the cloud, where the model parameters can be refined to help maintain detection performance. Your ongoing participation in confirming alerts keeps the solution accurate.
